Vietnam's Largest Petrochemical Complex Begins Operations, Boosting Industry Competitiveness
The $5 billion Southern Petrochemical Complex in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, Vietnam, has commenced commercial operations. Developed by Long Son Petrochemicals, a subsidiary of the Siam Cement Group, the complex can produce 1.35 million tons of olefins and 1.4 million tons of polyolefin annually for domestic and export markets. It aims to enhance Vietnam’s petrochemical and plastic industries, generating an estimated $1.5 billion in annual revenue and creating 1,000 jobs.
